Mopholosi Morokong is the IUF’s occupational health and safety officer for Africa. He currently manages a project building the capacity of agricultural workers unions in the region to work on improving OHS. He joined the IUF in 2003. Prior to that he worked for the South African Chemical Workers Union (SACWU) before joining Southern Africa Trade Union Coordination Council (SATUCC). He was part of the Workers Group that negotiated ILO Convention 184 on safety and health in agriculture and has represented the IUF in many international and regional fora dealing with workplace rights. He is also a qualified lawyer, specializing in labour law.
