This event will highlight the importance of skills development services and post-training support to improve livelihoods, making families less vulnerable to forced labour and child labour.
Concrete examples of skills development interventions from Africa and Asia will be shared. These will highlight the impact on families through increasing their livelihoods, decreasing their vulnerabilities to forced labour and child labour, while also improving their children’s education. The importance of ensuring that skills development services are accessible, market-based and meet the needs of vulnerable households will also be addressed.
Skills development is a powerful approach to decrease vulnerabilities to forced labour and child labour, while providing the adequate tools to get a decent job.
