Andrew Clayton is a Senior Social Development Adviser in the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). He works in the Indo-Pacific Regional Department where he heads up the Open Societies, Health and Humanitarian Pillar. He is FCDO’s regional lead on child labour and modern slavery in Asia and has been the lead adviser for designing and implementing the Asia Regional Child Labour Programme. He has worked for DFID/FCDO since 2009 in social development and humanitarian advisory roles. Prior to joining DFID he worked in the NGO sector with Oxfam, Christian Aid and INTRAC and has a Ph.D. in social anthropology.
