Cynthia Samuel-Olonjuwon is the Assistant Director-General and Regional Director for Africa of the International Labour Organization (ILO). Prior to her appointment to this position, Ms. Samuel-Olonjuwon was the Deputy Regional Director for Africa. She joined the ILO in 1995, where she has held different positions in Headquarters in Geneva and the field, including Chief of the ILO Programming Unit for Africa.
She is also a strong advocate for women’s rights. Ms Samuel-Olonjuwon was on the Board of the International Sociological Association (Research Committee on Women in Society) from 1986 to 1990.
