Mr Seme is the founder of Truth Works International which advocates for and supports vulnerable people, trains youth to be self-reliant and focuses on advocacy against child labour and early marriages through music, campaigns and community dialogues. Seme is a South Sudanese Refugee in Bidibidi refugee settlement in Northern Uganda. A child labour and children at risk activist, he moved to Uganda as a refugee in 2016 after the war began in Juba, South Sudan. Seme's heart was touched to work with children in 2017 after he saw how refugee children suffer the effects of war in Bidibidi Refugee Settlement. He co-founded I CAN South Sudan a youth, refugee-led organization which engages unaccompanied refugee children in social and musical activities to heal them of trauma.
The event discusses how young people, student leaders and survivor advocates have been on the frontlines of the effort to eliminate child labour in Africa and globally.
