Meeting room 11

This side session focuses on the following objectives:

  • Share practical ways to achieve supply chain traceability and monitoring to reach the hidden, informal workers who are most vulnerable to child labour and rarely included within the company and third-party due diligence programs;
  • Highlight how strengthened business policy frameworks and programs can prevent child labour;
  • Discuss how we can achieve social protections, fair compensation, and the right to organize for all workers, including informal labourers;
  • Draw attention to the role of remediation and restoration for child labour survivors;
  • Consider effective advocacy tools and government policies to achieve lasting change.

This panel highlights why we are in a promising moment to stop child labour in supply chains around the world and addresses the reality that change can only be realised when there is accountability throughout the supply chain ensuring transparency; living wages; freedom to associate and rights, protection and remediation for children and workers at the bottom in hidden and informal supply chains.
